Permethrin Residue Investigations

The 4-Poster Study addresses technical concerns held by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation and the NYS Department of Health regarding 4-Poster registration and use in New York State.

Objective II of the 4-Poster Deer and Tick Control Study was designed to address concerns of human exposure to permethrin via handling and consuming white-tailed deer harvested from 4-Poster treatment areas.  Cornell is collecting samples from deer for permethrin residue analysis to determine if and where residues are present and at what levels.  Samples were collected during 2008 and 2009 and will continue to be collected during 2010.
